Town Committees

Boards and Committees

A Council committee means a committee, commission, board or other body established by a Council under the Municipal Government Act. They include dedicated volunteers from our local community who contribute their ideas, vision and expertise to move important community projects forward.

A minimum of one Council member also serve on each committee along with members of the Community at large. On many Committees, there are also members of specific organizations from the community who contribute their expertise and knowledge in various fields. 

Council also represents the Town on a number of boards for non-profits and other societies.

The Town of Cardston is currently seeking for volunteers from the community to serve as members on the following committees:

One of the best ways to get involved in making our Town a better place is to join a committee that shares your interests. You can get involved as a committee member, as a volunteer, or on specific projects. If you have ideas that you would like to see realized, bringing your ideas to the appropriate committee is the best way to sound out your idea and get support for it.

A Council Committee is an agency, board, or committee established by bylaw of the Municipality under the authority of the Municipal Government Act.
