NOTICE: WOOD PILE CLOSED – NO NEW WOOD ALLOWED
September 5 2024TRANSFER STATION WOOD PILE CLOSED – NO NEW WOOD ALLOWED
Since July 30th, a fire restriction has been in place that prohibits fire permits from being issued. As a result we are unable to burn the wood pile at the transfer station.
Signs have been posted at the transfer station advising people not to add any new wood to the pile. Despite this, some people disregard the signs and continue to illegally dump wood. This is creating a serious fire hazard.
Effective immediately the town will begin prosecuting violators who continue to dump wood at the transfer station wood pile. This will remain in effect until there is a change in conditions that results in the fire restriction being lifted.
If you have wood waste, you will be required to keep it and store it in a safe place until either the conditions change or until Town Cleanup during the week of October 21-25th. The Town will pick up wood waste from residents registered for Town Cleanup regardless of whether or not a fire restriction is still in place.
