|Tony Walker||Tony Walker is the General Manager of Community Futures Alberta Southwest (CFABSW) located in Pincher Creek, AB. CFABSW is one of 27 offices in Alberta delivering the CF program, funded by the Government of Canada through Western Economic Diversification (WD). The CF program provides small business loans, capacity building for entrepreneurs and participates in community economic development activities in conjunction with other partners and stakeholders. CFABSW is a non-profit organization led by a local member board and administers the program in the Southwest corner of Alberta.
Tony graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1991, with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Finance and Accounting. Tony has also completed the Canadian Securities course and has taken many economic development courses through Economic Developers Association of Alberta and Community Futures.
Tony is a Chamber of Commerce board member in three communities (Cardston, Claresholm and Fort Macleod) and is a board member on three Economic Development Committees/Commissions (Cardston, Fort Macleod and Pincher Creek). He has been involved in economic development in the province of Alberta for the past 13 years.
Tony has a passion for helping entrepreneurs to start new businesses and to help grow existing businesses. He has overseen the preparation of over 200 business plans. He is also a “screener” for the Chinook Entrepreneur Challenge and has been actively judging business plans for 5 years in that competition.
Tony’s hobbies include golfing, bowling and numismatics.
